I'm Yanna.
I have been fascinated by the human psyche since I was 12 years old when I began trying to understand that my thoughts acutely affected my emotions. My parents were political refugees from the Czech Republic who found their home here in Vancouver where I grew up. My deep interest in the field was propelled, in part, by a desire to understand and reconnect with my own self-worth. I have attained a Master’s in Counselling with a graduate thesis focused on the therapeutic benefits of nature in healing workplace burnout. My research was a passion project and deeply personal as I find profound peace and healing in the wilderness of the West Coast. I am most joyful playing and napping in our local mountains, travelling by bike, and cooking obscure recipes for my loved ones.
